OPTOSCANA è il Polo di Innovazione Toscano di Optoelettronica e Spazio.

OPTOSCANA è stato approvato nel Luglio 2011 nell’ambito del Bando della Regione Toscana sui Poli di Innovazione per triennio 2011-2014

OPTOSCANA ha come Soggetto Gestore un’ATS con mandatario il CNR – Istituto di Fisica Applicata, insieme a due agenzie di R&S, il Consorzio Pisa Ricerche e i2t3 – Innovazione Industriale Tramite Trasferimento Tecnologico Onlus, di Firenze.

OPTOSCANA ha attualmente circa 80 aziende associate, con un fatturato complessivo di superiore a 1,2 Miliardi di Euro, un numero di circa 4000 addetti, e un portafoglio di 248 brevetti. Ad esse si aggiungono le 5 Università Toscane, 4 Istituti del CNR, oltre a organizzazioni di ricerca come il LENS e il CNIT, e agenzie di R&S come ASEV e NEXT.

OPTOSCANA, tramite gli Organismi di Ricerca e le grandi aziende afferenti, mette a disposizione una rete di circa 50 laboratori per il trasferimento tecnologico, di notevole consistenza tecnico-scientifica e ben distribuiti sul territoriale regionale: 3 laboratori congiunti Università-Impresa, 20 presso il CNR, 14 di UNIFI, UNPI e UNISI, 2 di CPR; ad essi si aggiungono i laboratori privati: 6 presso il Gruppo EL.EN. e 5 presso Selex Galileo.

In April 2011 the Regione Toscana (Government of Tuscany) launched a call for 12 Poles of Innovation as regional organizations aimed at the technological transfer from research centers to SMEs. In July 2011, the Regione Toscana established the Innovation Pole OPTOSCANA.
OPTOSCANA has as Managing Body composed by the National Research Council – Institute of Applied Physics (CNR IFAC), along with two R&D agencies, Consorzio Pisa Ricerche and i2t3 – Industrial Innovation Through Technology Transfer non-profit organization, of Florence.
